SANDALLS, Sandads and Sandtots

Sandalls

All parents/carers are automatically members of Sandalls.

SandALLs is the group which organises a range of events over the year to raise funds for the infant and junior schools. These events include cake sales, discos for children, Summer and Christmas Fairs, etc. Funds raised recently have been used to provide enrichment activities for children, such as drumming workshops and theatre group visits, as well as larger scale purchases such as refurbishing the school hall. Our next main project is to develop the infant playground.
You can get involved by attending SandALLs events or, even better, helping out at events. It’s a great team of people to work with and many lasting friendships have developed over the years. Make sure you add your name to the mailing list to keep up to date with the latest news / events – info@sandalls.net . You can also find us on Facebook  or follow us on twitter @SandAlls2.

Sandads

SanDads is a group within SandALLs. SanDads was formed in 2011. The aim was to increase the involvement of dads and/or significant male carers in the life of the school. Our SanDads have been a real asset. Some of their activities to date include:

  • the annual SanDads firework party
  • running a family fun day at Abbotshall fields

The group has also taken on responsibility for specific aspects of the larger SandALLs events. The group has also set up a rota for regular reading sessions with children in school. All of these have had a positive impact on the life of the school. As well as that, many people have become friends through their involvement in SanDads so try to come along to one of their meetings. Meetings are held in a local pub or sometimes at school on a ‘beer and pizza night’.

Sandtots

SandTots has been running for a while  now. Using our dining hall, the group meets every Thursday morning and the cost is just £1 per family. There are lots of things for pre-schoolers to do and of course a well-needed cuppa for the adults! SandTots has been a great way for our pupils of the future to start getting to know the school and, like SandALLs and SanDads, has been a source of support and friendship for many of our parents/carers with very small children.
